I agree that basic rhythms and meoeidls are good for a child''s development. Grace has more than a few toddler toys that play songs like Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Mary Had a Little Lamb (the traditional one although I''ve busted out my own guitar to play her the Buddy Guy/Stevie Ray Vaughan version). And I know she''s too young for my music to be really more than background noise, something she only gets a vague sense of. At this point, she only sees the forest no matter how much I try to point out the trees.I suppose its all a matter of what music I''m trying to expose her too. And I''m learning to look at the songs in the forest sense that she does. If I strip away all the minutia that I automatically pick up on, what basic emotion is the song communicating? If I feel like it''s too angry or too frenetic, I''ll skip over it. And I do have an internal censor (my external one is my wife). Foul language or adult themes are obviously off-limits, but there are some bands I enjoy that I won''t be exposing her too. Sevendust, for instance, is just a bit too heavy. Thanks for the responses, savvydads.______________________________________________ There''s nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein. Red Smith
